Privacy Notice

ReadyChessGO is the trading name of Ricky Ray Carpanini, a sole trader based in the UK (registered address: 24 Murrain Drive, Downswood, Maidstone, Kent ME15 8XJ). For data protection purposes, Ricky Ray Carpanini is the “data controller” for personal data collected through this website.

When you place an order, contact us, or browse the site, we may collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number (if given)
• Your delivery and billing address
• Your order details — the wood, resin, and font choices you make, and any text you ask us to engrave
• A preview image generated in your browser from the 3D configurator, used to confirm your order specification
• Basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type), collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and performance

We do not collect or store your payment card details — these go directly to our payment processor, Stripe (see below).

• To take, process, and fulfil your order (performance of a contract)
• To send order confirmation, dispatch, and order-tracking emails (performance of a contract)
• To reply to enquiries you send us (legitimate interest in customer service)
• To keep records for tax and accounting purposes (legal obligation)
• To prevent fraud and keep the site secure (legitimate interest)

We do not use your data for marketing emails or targeted advertising, and we do not sell your data.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the shop, each receiving only what they need to do their job:

• Stripe — processes your payment. Stripe receives your card and billing details directly; we never see or store your card number.
• Sanity — stores your order record (items, address, status) so we can fulfil it, kept in a private area separate from the site's public content.
• Resend — sends your order confirmation and dispatch emails on our behalf.
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Delivery courier — receives your name and delivery address to get the order to you.

We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't sell it.

Some of the providers above may process or store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, they do so under legally recognised safeguards, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contractual clauses.

We keep order records, including the personal data attached to them, for as long as needed to fulfil the order plus the period required by UK tax law (currently 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year). Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, then deleted.

This site currently uses only strictly necessary cookies — for example, those set by Stripe during checkout. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we'll update this notice.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data (subject to our legal obligation to keep order/tax records)
• Ask us to restrict or object to certain processing
• Ask for your data in a portable format

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) — though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it out directly first.

This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this notice occasionally — for example, if we add a new service provider. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
